Jelly Roll impresses but Logan Paul pins him anyway at SummerSlam

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Celebrities have been mixing it up in WWE dating back as long as the company has existed. Hell, WrestleMania was built on the back of mixing pro wrestling with Hollywood. You should never be surprised, then, when they go back to the well and hit up a Grammy nominated recording artist like Jelly Roll to get in the ring at a major event.

Such was the case at tonight’s (Sat., Aug. 2, 2025) SummerSlam premium live event at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The big fella, weighing under 300

pounds for the first time since he was in junior high, teamed up with Randy Orton to take on the duo of Drew McIntyre and fellow celebrity turned talent Logan Paul. He trained with wrestlers like The Undertaker to prepare for this.

The actual story of the match was largely Jelly Roll trying to stand up for himself — much like he’s been doing in the weeks leading up to this — and just getting buzz sawed for it. He took a huge splash through the announcer’s desk from Paul, and they brought out medical personnel for him.

They got him up and started walking him to the back, right past his wife, as he looked on dejected. He really sold the hell out of it, with Paul as a backdrop laughing at him in the ring while he and McIntyre worked over poor Orton. He was, of course, simply selling his ass off, ultimately making the big comeback and getting in the ring to hit the Black Roll Slam on McIntyre, and a chokeslam on Paul.

The crowd went nuts for it all.

It looked like he may be on his way to victory, but McIntyre laid him out with a Claymore and Paul was there to send Orton out after he responded with an RKO. Still laid out, Jelly Roll was vulnerable to the splash and found himself down on the mat for the three second tan.

The bad guys won in the end.

But Jelly Roll looked pretty good overall!
