Gavi has tipped Dro Fernandez to be the next La Masia graduate to break into the first team at Barcelona.
Dro has already made an impression on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, scoring on his debut, after getting the call to join the senior squad.
Gavi has now been asked which player he thinks will be the next to make the jump up to the first team and is in no doubt at all.
“Dro. I hope he goes up. He’s an incredible talent and person,” he told AS.
“A very good kid. I give him a lot of
ADadvice because, ultimately, he’s my protégé there. I always try to help him with everything, and I hope he continues like this, with the mentality he has and that he gives his all in training.
“It’s important because the manager sees him and then decides. If he continues like this, everything will go well for him.”
Dro did not feature last time out against FC Seoul, as Gavi led the side to a 7-3 win, but will be hoping to feature on their final game of the tour on Monday against Daegu.
