Former Michigan Basketball F Gregg Glenn III tragically passes away

Former Michigan Wolverines basketball player Gregg Glenn III tragically passed away last weekend. He was just 22 years old.

According to NOLA.com, Glenn “drowned off the coast of Miami while swimming with a friend.”

“It is with profound sadness that I reach out to you today. We have lost a cherished member of our university community, Gregg Glenn III, who died in a tragic accident this weekend,” Tulane vice president of student affairs Sarah Cunningham said in a statement. He was a talented student-athlete

who enriched our lives with his spirit, dedication, and passion for both sports and academics.

“Gregg was an outstanding athlete on our men’s basketball team and an individual who brought joy and light to those around him. His commitment to excellence inspired many of us.

“Let us remember Gregg not just for his achievements in sports, but for the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone. He will forever remain a part of our university family.”

Glenn was a four-star recruit in the Wolverines’ 2022 class under former head coach Juwan Howard. The Florida native played in four games as a true freshman in Ann Arbor, averaging 2.8 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

After one year at Michigan, Glenn transferred to Tulane and averaged 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 34 starts last season. His best game was against Tulsa, when he put up 22 points and five rebounds.

RIP, Gregg. You will be missed by so many. May your family find support and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
