Day 1 of training camp for the Buffalo Bills has officially arrived, and head coach Sean McDermott started the festivities with an introductory press conference. According to McDermott, rookie defensive tackle Deone Walker is feeling good and will come off his rep plan, which he followed throughout the spring.
McDermott: DT Deone Walker is off the rep management he operated under in the spring. He will not be limited. We recognize the back will be taking impact and we’ll keep an eye on things but
ADno limitations. #Bills

The 21-year-old athletic specimen, who stands 6’7” and 330 pounds, discovered a back injury while working out at the NFL Scouting Combine, so Bills coaching and training staff has been incredibly cautious about the situation. It’s worth noting that McDermott and co. are aware that his back will be taking impact throughout camp, but are still giving the rookie full rein to get back in the groove of things.
Walker, a fourth-round pick out of Kentucky, was a two-time captain and totaled 22 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in three seasons. His sheer size could certainly help Buffalo’s interior defensive line presence, especially against the run, and it will be exciting to see what the big man can finally do on the field while wearing a Bills uniform.
