Atlanta Dream center Brionna Jones and Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes have both been selected as All-Star replacements, the WNBA announced on Thursday. Those replacements came due to injuries to Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

Already, Minnesota Lynx forward Kayla McBride was named as a replacement for Atlanta Dream forward Rhyne Howard. That ups the total number of 2025 WNBA All-Star players to 25, with 3 replacements joining 10 starters and 12

reserves.

Brittney Sykes and Brionna Jones were both worthwhile replacements

At 31 years old, Sykes has never been an All-Star but appeared to be on the cusp of a selection this season. She is averaging 17.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. Both her points and assists mark career highs. She’s also shooting 34% from three, the second-best mark of her career.

Sykes was not one of the 12 players WNBA coaches selected to be All-Star game reserves, nor was she named the league’s first-choice replacement when Howard went down with a knee injury. But, for the first time in her career, Sykes will appear at the All-Star game, joining Mystics teammates Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron.

Jones, meanwhile, becomes a four-time All-Star, after averaging 13.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, all while anchoring the Dream’s defense.
