Spoilers coming out of AEW’s Collision taping in Chicago last Thursday (July 17) told us that Colten Gunn was helped to the back during the 4-way $200K Tag match. When the episode aired two days later, we got a look at the spot where it happened. Colten immediately clutched his right knee and landing while taking a punch from Big Bill.

Injury news is never welcome, but it especially stung with
former AEW Tag champs The Gunns. They returned to television in February after three months on the sidelines, then disappeared again until they returned with their Bang Bang Gang teammate Juice Robinson at All In Texas. Their match on Collision was The Gunns first since losing to The Hurt Syndicate on Dynamite this winter.
And while we didn’t get any details, on the July 23 Dynamite AEW did confirm that Colten is out. Per Excalibur on commentary, Billy’s boys Colten & Austin were supposed to be a part of the World Tag Team Eliminator Tournament that started on tonight’s show. With the elder Gunn brother injured, that won’t be the case.
Other than the two teams in the tournament opener on Dynamite (FTR & JetSpeed), we don’t know who any of the other six are. That can wait though, obviously. Right now, we’re pulling for a change in The Gunns luck and a speedy recovery for Colten.
