The Guardians needed this win badly after the way they lost Game 1. Bibee wasn’t great but he was good enough to get the win today, giving up four runs on seven hits in 5 innings pitched. His ERA is up to 4.39 on the season. It hasn’t been a great year for him. Thankfully the bullpen was nearly flawless today. Nic Enright, Hunter Haddis, and Emmanuel Clase combined for 4 shutout innings of relief with just one hit combined given up. It was kind of crazy that Gaddis and Clase both pitched in both games
of the double header, but it was nice to see Clase go close it out after what happened in Game 1.
It was a good game offensively for the Guardians, contributions from Johnathan Rodriguez and Brayan Rocchio are always welcome. Steven Kwan hit a massive 431 foot 2 run HR in the top of the 4th to make it 6-2, and that was all the Guardians needed to win this one.
It’ll be Joey Cantillo vs Noah Cameron for the rubber match tomorrow at 2:10 PM ET!
