Real Madrid wonder kid Franco Mastantuono traveled to the Spanish capital on Saturday, and he briefly spoke to ESPN to share his feelings on joining Los Blancos.
“I’m very happy, I waited for this day for a long, long time. I’m so happy about traveling and finally being there in Madrid,” said Mastantuono.
He was asked about Alfredo Di Stefano, who also joined Real Madrid after playing for River Plate.
“Such a great player, truly a football legend. I wanted to follow his steps. I hope I can achieve the
same kind of success he had,” added the young winger.
Mastantuono will officially join Real Madrid on August 14th, when he will turn 18 years old. It will likely take him some time to adapt to his new teammates and the playing style of La Liga, but he will be expected to be a relevant player very soon.
