Just days after Mike reported on a couple names in the 2026 class getting a ratings boost, another member of Jonathan Smith’s 3rd class leveled up. In-state product Samson Gash, a wide receiver from Detroit Catholic Central High School, is now a 4-star recruit according to 247Sports. 247 also has him as WR #46 in the nation as well as the #4 player in Michigan.
Here are a couple other fun facts on Samson. He recently broke the Michigan High School record in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 10.41
seconds. He accomplished that at the state championship meet. Also, his father played on the Super Bowl XXXV winning Baltimore Ravens.
With his elevation to a four-star rating, MSU now has two 4-star WRs in the 2026 class, the other being Tyren Wortham. At present, MSU’s 2026 class is recognized as the 35th best in the nation and 12th in the Big Ten.
