According to a report from Kicker journalist Frank Linkesch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl is slotted to a position on the first team roster for this season.
Karl will be the backup to Michael Olise at right-wing:
Lennart Karl is expected to take a permanent spot in the squad as Michael Olise’s backup on the right wing. Similar to Jamal Musiala in 2020, the 17-year-old will have to take advantage of the chances he gets and earn more playing time.
This is a great opportunity
for Karl, who made a great impression during the Club World Cup. It was initially thought that Karl would be loaned away for this summer. Now, the shifty attacker could present a match-up issue or a change of pace look at wing, while also giving the coveted first team experience that he desires.
Hopefully, there will be enough minutes to keep his development headed in the right direction.
