AEW holding WrestleDream somewhere other than Washington state this year

AEW

For the first two years of its existence, AEW has run their WrestleDream PPV in Washington state. 2023’s inaugural edition of the show honoring the late Antonio Inoki (it’s held in October as the legendary martial artist, pro wrestler, politician and promoter died on Oct. 1, 2022) happened in Seattle, and last year’s edition was in Tacoma.

AEW has several prominent names who hail from Washington, including Nick Wayne, Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland, and Bryan Danielson. Last year’s WrestleDream featured

what turned out to be Danielson’s last match as a full-time in-ring performer, as he dropped the World title to his then-teammate Jon Moxley. The Blackpool Combat Club turned on Bryan after the match, infamously choking him under a plastic bag to start their reign of terror as the Death Riders.

The anniversary of that key moment in AEW history will not happen in the land of the American Dragon, however. The promotion announced today (July 21) that Wrestle Dream 2025 will be in St. Louis’ Chaifetz Arena on Sat., Oct. 18. Tickets go on sale next week:

AEW held their Dynasty show at Chaifetz in April of last year.
