Much of the last few weeks when it comes to the future of Francisco Conceição at Juventus has centered around one simple question: “Will he stay or will he go?” With Juve out of the Club World Cup, Conceição’s future was very much up in the air, with
It appears we’re approaching the final conclusion.
According to Giovanni Albanese of La Gazzetta dello Sport and TuttoJuve’s Mirko Di Natale, Juventus and Porto are closing in on a deal to make Conceição’s stay in Turin a permanent one. Just how close
is a little bit at the eyes of the beholder — Albanese says a deal is pretty much done while Di Natale is leaning to wording things as more close than actually being finalized and good to go. Either way, Juventus and Porto have agreed to a deal that, all in all, will be worth as much as €27 million, with Albanese saying it’s a €22 million fee with another €5 million in bonuses, many of those rather easily to activate and secure on Porto’s end.
A key component of the deal, according to Di Natale, is that Conceição has waived a 20% rights fee that could have complicated negotiations. Instead, Conceição will likely be on a little bit higher of a salary than he was during the 2024-25 season when he was on loan with Juventus.

It wasn’t so long ago when Igor Tudor first took over as interim manager that the jersey that Conceição would be wearing for the 2025-26 season would not be that of Juventus. Rumors aplenty flew that Conceição was not going to be purchased outright, and his playing time under Tudor was very much fueling that. But, for whatever reason, things have changed over the last couple of months — and Conceição was much more of a contributor during the Club World Cup than he was during Tudor’s first few games at Juventus.
When it comes to Juventus signing multiple attacking players to be fielded behind the striker at the top of Tudor’s 3-4-2-1, things don’t seem like it’s an either/or situation between Conceição and Jadon Sancho. Reports have continuously stated that just because Juventus are going for Conceição doesn’t mean they’re not going to try for Sancho after that. With Conceição deal very much close to being closed, attention will certainly be turned over to Sancho, who Juve have reportedly sent an opening bid to Manchester United for within the last couple of days.
But, the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to Conceição’s future in Turin appears to be coming into focus. And it involves hopefully many more appearances in bianconero.
