“Andrej is a talented big man that we are excited to get in our program and develop,” Indiana head coach Darian DeVries said in the release. “He has good size and is able to score the basketball in different ways. He is strong on the glass and has good defensive
instincts and timing when blocking shots.”
Acimovic averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the U19 ABA League and 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per gam while shooting 65.3% from the floor and 39.0% from the 3-point line in the second Bosnian division. Additionally, he’s a member of the U16 and U18 Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team.
Likely a developmental piece moving forward, Acimovic adds some depth to Indiana’s frontcourt as DeVries looks to build for the far and immediate futures.
