We have seen plenty of activity around college athletics, but more recently, we have seen teams starting to switch their apparel brands.
We saw Auburn leave Under Armour to become a Nike school. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Volunteers have decided to return to Adidas.
Good news, Kentucky Wildcats fans. It appears that the Cats will be staying with Nike for quite a while longer.
According to a report by Jeff Drummond of Cats Illustrated and Rivals, Kentucky is set to renew its contract with Nike on a long-term
apparel and shoe deal that should “dwarf the previous one.”
The Cats have rocked the checkmark since the 1997 season, and have seen plenty of great uniforms along the way. Now, it appears they will be here to stay for the foreseeable future, rightfully so, as one of the biggest brands in college athletics stays with the biggest sports apparel brand.
Now, let’s get some throwback uniforms going.
According to sources within the program, Kentucky is set to re-sign with Nike on a long-term shoe/apparrel deal. The previous deal (signed in 2013 at $47M) ran thru end of 2024-25 season. Cats have been with Nike since 1997. This deal would likely dwarf the previous one.
