The Atlanta Braves will be taking on the New York Yankees as the home stretch is starting. The Braves are well out of playoff contention, so if they want a chance they will need to start winning consistently now.
Tonight’s game on paper is the the game in the series that the Braves have the best chance of winning with their lone remaining healthy top tier starter on the mound. Spencer Strider has stepped up over his last six starts, maintaining a 2.95 ERA while accumulating fifty strikeouts to only
thirteen walks. He also has limited HRs to only 0.5 per start. In his first five starts he had 1.0 HR given up per start and a 5.40 ERA.
The Yankees have been scoring runs better than all but two teams since the start of July, but have been giving up more runs than all but one team. On paper the Braves’ offense will be the key for success tonight.
First pitch is at 7:15 EDT
