Explosive details emerge in transfer saga between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade

If you were wondering why Nick Woltemade’s agent went on the attack today, well, now we know.

Per reports, Bayern Munich submitted another bid on Woltemade and was soundly rejected.

According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Tobi Altschäffl and Julian Agardi (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich met with VfB Stuttgart via video call where Bayern’s latest proposal was swatted down…putting a potential deal before the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup in serious jeopardy:

this afternoon between Bayern and Stuttgart bosses to discuss the potential transfer of Nick Woltemade. On the Bayern side, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund were represented, while Stuttgart were represented by Alexander Wehrle, Fabian Wohlgemuth and Christian Gentner. A fee of €60m was discussed, assuming all parties cooperate – that includes Woltemade forgoing part of his salary to help finance the move. Stuttgart, however, immediately rejected the proposal. It is now unlikely that there will be an agreement before the Super Cup on Saturday, which is the deadline set by Stuttgart.

Stuttgart rejected the bid, even though the player’s camp believed the package would be enough. VfB demanded €75m from Bayern today — something Bayern will not pay.


Bayern Munich travels to VfB Stuttgart for the Beckenbauer Supercup (formerly the DFL-Supercup) in what should be a highly anticipated match-up between two teams with high hopes for the 2025/26 season.
