Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (31-44/19-6)
SYRACUSE 8, OMAHA 2 (BOX)
Drew Gilbert led the way with a huge night at the plate, as he hit a pair of home runs and went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four runs batted in. Syracuse cruised to victory thanks in large part to him, and Brandon Sproat was solid if unspectacular in five innings of work.
Gilbert is now hitting .338/.403/.723 in the month of July with six home runs in 72 plate appearances, and it sure seems like a good time to give him his first look at the major league level. And Sproat
now has a 0.64 ERA over his past five starts with 30 strikeouts and eight walks in 28.0 innings of work.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-22*/17-8)
BINGHAMTON 12, READING 9 (BOX)
Chris Suero had a big night at the plate and hit his first Double-A home run in a seven-run fifth inning that turned a deficit into a lead that the Rumble Ponies would not relinquish. And Carson Benge had a pretty good night at the plate, too, as he continues to rake since being promoted to the level. Benge is hitting .333/.452/.522 in 84 plate appearances thus far with Binghamton.
The bullpen made things a bit more interesting than they needed to be, but ultimately they bent and didn’t break.

ST. LUCIE 6, DAYTONA BEACH 3 (BOX)
A three-run top of the fifth gave the Mets a 5-1 lead, and they tacked on a run in the seventh, giving themselves plenty of breathing room for the couple of runs that Daytona Beach scored in the bottom of the seventh. Yohairo Cuevas, a 21-year-old outfielder, led the way with a three-hit night, and Randy Guzman, who had just been promoted to the team out of the complex league, hit a home run in his first-ever Single-A game.
