Welcome to the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championships! It’s the second day of the quarterfinals and the action should only get more exciting from here.

Yesterday, Italy edged out Norway in a tense 2-1 thriller — Juventus forward Cristiana Girelli completing her brace in the 90th minute to send Le Azzurre through to the semis.

Now it’s a rematch of the EURO 2022 semifinals with Sweden vs. England. Three Bayern Munich players have the potential to feature today: Georgia Stanway, Julia Zigiotti Olme,

and Magdalena Eriksson. England won it all in 2022, defeating Germany, and beat Sweden 4-0 in the semifinals on the way.

The Lionesses lost their first-ever European Championship match under head coach Sarina Wiegman’s charge to open the tournament but have turned things around. Sweden, meanwhile, flexed with an absolute demolition of Germany in their final group stage match and are no stranger either to going deep in tournaments.
