Cleveland Browns Training Camp Recap: Day 6 - Live in Berea

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Day 6 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place on Tuesday. Here is our recap of the session.

Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report - Day 6 (7/29/25)

1. Live in Berea: I made my annual trip to Berea, Ohio to watch Cleveland Browns training camp in person. You may recall that my primary reason for going to camp each year is to enjoy the fan atmosphere at camp, as opposed to paying attention to practice itself (because for the most part, practice is too far away for fans to really digest anything).

she be up on Dawgs By Nature by the end of the night.

2. District 46 Coming in 2027: I was curious if District 46 would be under construction yet, but the exterior area of training camp was still the same as last year: clear of houses, but not yet under development. This time next year, that should change.

Above is a shot where Lou Groza Blvd is. You can see the Browns' practice fields in the distance at the top left. In the picture below, you see the rendering of what the view will look like from there in 2027. For perspective, in the picture below, I would be standing on the curved sidewalk at the bottom center of the rendering.

One of the tents in Berea was a VR headset you could put on to visualize how the area will look once construction is completed.

3. Making My Way Inside: I made the trek down Beech Street around 1:50 pm. The gates opened at 1:00 pm, so I assumed I wouldn't be one of the first 1,000 fans to score the giveaway schedule poster. Practice itself was set to begin at 2:00 pm.

I know they give away free ice cold water at practice, but because I take the bus/bike out to training camp, I bring my own plastic bottle that I consume so that it's empty as I go through security with my clear bag. The workers didn't check my bag, except for saying, "no water bottle, they have water inside." I wasn't making a stink of it, but I still said, "but it's empty." They seemed confused of what to say and still said to throw it out (which, if you know entry rules, empty water bottles are fine).

Anyway, I went into camp. The left side was blocked off, so everyone went to their right and proceeded to the tent areas or bleachers. Here are some pictures I snapped of the fan experience at camp:

Overall, I'd say there was nothing "new" at training camp this year. I think the fan experience is still decent, but it took a step back last year from some of the engaging elements or photo opportunities they've had in the past. One of the popular areas were the cooling stations or free Deja Blue water bottles:

4. Emerson Carted Off: I don't remember seeing too many serious injuries at my training camp sessions over the years, but CB Martin Emerson was in pain with a leg injury, halting practice for several minutes as he was carted off. More on the injury here, and now later, it has been confirmed to be a season-ending ruptured Achilles.

5. Graham vs. Teller: I’m not saying fans are doing this, but I feel like one thing that hasn’t hit me is that we could have a monster up front on the defensive line in DT Mason Graham, the No. 5 overall pick. Here he is putting a nice move on veteran RG Wyatt Teller:

6. Stipe in the House: A career after firefighting? According to Brad Stainbrook, hometown former UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic was at practice taking photographs:

7. A Bump for Kisean? With the Browns thin atop the depth chart at receiver, they had WR Jerry Jeudy only doing individual drills today. With a spot open, it was undrafted rookie Kisean Johnson who got some work in with the first-team offense.

8. Two Minute Drills Go to Defense: To conclude practice, the Browns had their rookie quarterbacks operate in the two-minute drill. Things started well for QB Dillon Gabriel:

However, Gabriel was then victimized by a poor interception at the goal line as time winded down, with CB Cameron Mitchell coming away with it:

QB Shedeur Sanders could not get anything going when it was his turn with the drill to end practice, giving the victories to the defense:

9. Haslam Says the Rookie QBs Need to Play: Before practice, Jimmy Haslam talked to the media. He was asked a bunch, and also noted that he is not the one who picked Shedeur Sanders. However, one interesting quote was that he thinks the rookie quarterbacks absolutely need to see the field in 2025 so they know what they have heading into the 2026 draft:

10. Brownies: There wasn't much Camp Chatter to be had among the fans, as they mostly baked in the sun and wanted to know about autographs. ... Guards had to tell young fans not to sit in the middle of the walking path to rest. ... Brownie the Elf was also visible as a mascot at practice. ... It was Military Appreciation Day, but they did not have their own tent; they were, however, first up for autographs. ... This was not a padded practice, but they'll get back to that on Wednesday morning.

11. Next Up: The Browns next practice is Wednesday at 9:30 am. It will be the fifth of eight practices open to the public. The theme will be “Stay in the Game! Attendance Network.” The food truck will be Feelin’ Good Ice Cream. The giveaway will be a Cleveland Browns schedule poster.
