The Yankees, once again, move on to their next series looking to turn the page. They’ve been trying to turn the page for a month and a half now, and every time they give us hope, they fall right back into the muck. Aaron Boone insists that his team is close to turning things around, in spite of the losses and blunders piling up, and in some ways he might be right: the Yankees, after all this, still have the best Pythagorean and BaseRuns records in the AL. But none of that matters if the Yankees don’t
start winning games soon. They are drifting further and further back in the AL East, with less than a third of the season left to make it up.
On the site today, get ready for an important three-game set with the Rangers with Matt’s series preview. Also this morning, I’ll run down Sunday’s AL action, while Nolan will look back at the week that was on the farm. Later, John will write up the next entry in the 2000 Yankees diary, which features a huge game from one Jorge Posada, and Madison makes the call for this week’s mailbag.
As a reminder of Andrew’s post from yesterday afternoon, know that PSA will be going dark tonight after 5pm ET until late tomorrow morning. We’ll still have a game thread that you’ll be able to comment on, but there will not be a recap.
