Former Barçelona Atletico coach Albert Sanchez is confident that youngster Jofre Torrents will go on to become the club’s first choice at left-back.
Torrents is a highly-rated prospect who is currently on the club’s pre-season tour of Asia and has been enjoying game time with Hansi Flick’s team.
The 18-year-old has previously been described as a mix of Balde and Gerard Martin, and Sanchez is in no doubt at all that he will become a regular at some point in the future.
“Maybe you’ll be surprised because
ADI didn’t get to have him at Barça Atlètic but I’ll tell you that I think Jofre Torrents is going to be Barça’s left-back,” he told Sport.
“I don’t forget Balde but I think Jofre Torrents is very good and in these years at the club he is one of the players who has surprised me the most. I think he will succeed at Barça.”
Torrents has been tipped to make the breakthrough for a little while now and is certainly one to watch during the 2025-26 campaign.
