  • On offense, a few guys like Greg Larvadain and Luke Floriea have done a good job making us remember their name with the plays they made (or in Floriea’s case, his local ties). On defense, though, that honor belongs to Julian Okwara, who has made at least two big plays in each of the first two preseason games. He’s been doing a great job getting past left tackles and making a play at the quarterback. The question is always begged, “Ok, but is that just because he’s facing weak competition?” But still, being a playmaker is a positive sign. The defensive line is already stacked, so making the final 53 man roster might be challenging. But I’m certainly eyeing him for the practice squad, or wondering if he’d be a waiver claim.
  • Isaiah McGuire only played 6 snaps, but was dominant in those few snaps, like a man against boys.
  • Nathaniel Watson played 87% of the snaps, as he hopes to find a spot on the Browns’ 53-man roster.
  • Could CB Keenan Isaac be making a claim for a roster spot, with some back-end help at cornerback needed?
  • The Browns’ defense dominated this preseason game, only allowing 88 yards of offense. Of the Eagles’ 13 points, 7 were from the pick six they had, and their other 6 points were from a touchdown off of a short field (after the Browns’ botched a handoff). The defense was not letting up. That’s a nice sign for these hungry backup defenders, but also, the Eagles’ third-string quarterback contenders just looked bad.
