It’s trade season and the Phillies want to upgrade, so naturally they’re being linked with the biggest bat available this deadline.
Phillies are yet another potential fit for Eugenio Suarez, with Bohm out and a need for a righty bat. Yanks, Mariners, Cubs, Reds, Astros, Tigers, Brewers all are also fits. @ctrent @francysromeroFR @ByRobertMurray all contributed teams

Now, I understand the team being put in the Suarez conversation. The Phillies could use another bat, preferably a right handed one, and as
we’re told day and night, Dave Dombrowski isn’t afraid to make a bold move. With Alec Bohm out, the team could use Suarez’s bat, but the issue becomes what happens once Bohm returns.
Then what?
Which makes our question of the day easy: what do you think of the team’s reported interest in Suarez? It feels like an agent trying to drum up a market and using Heyman as a way to get that market stirred up. It’s happened before. The fit with Suarez and the Phillies feels a bit off, but it you wanted to galaxy brain it, he could play third while Bohm shifts to first base and Bryce Harper moves to left field. If you’re going to have a subpar defense, might as well lean all the way into it and put your best defender into a new position.
Of course, I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of a Zack Wheeler death stare after an error is made.
Still, this rumor doesn’t make too much sense to me outside of someone trying to make a larger market for their player.
