Rising lightweight prospect Mauricio Ruffy will enter enemy territory on Sept. 6 for a fight with French veteran Benoit Saint Denis at UFC Paris, MMA Fighting has confirmed following a report from Sexto Round.
Saint Denis (14-3, 1 no contest) submitted Kyle Prepolec in his most recent octagon appearance in May to rebound from back-to-back stoppage losses to Renato Moicano and Dustin Poirier in 2024.
“God of War” has now won six of eight in the UFC since cutting down to his original weight class at
155 pounds, a 100 percent finishing rate with three bonuses claimed in victories.
Ruffy (12-1) won three straight since signing with the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series, capped off by a knockout-of-the-year candidate over King Green in March.
The Fighting Nerds representative has three knockouts in four octagon appearances since October 2023, including the DWCS finish over Raimond Magomedaliev, with a bonus for each UFC stoppage.
UFC Paris will be headlined by Ruffy’s teammate, Caio Borralho, versus top middleweight contender Nassourdine Imavov.
