TNA makes a mess of Knockouts Championship match

WHAT'S THE STORY?

TNA Wrestling

TNA had a big Knockouts Championship match booked for Impact (July 31, 2025), and they made a mess of it.

Jacy Jayne became a double champion at Slammiversary. Masha Slamovich wasn’t wasting time to cash in her contractual rematch. Game on!

Fatal Influence was ringside to interfere. Slamovich rallied for momentum. Before the match could really get cooking, Ash by Elegance ran in to the ring to clobber Slamovich with the Knockouts tag title belt. The referee waved off the bout and awarded the win to Slamovich,

but there are no title changes on a disqualification. Ash is the #1 contender for the Knockouts Championship, so her motivation was jealousy towards Slamovich. Heather and M ran in to back Ash against Fatal Influence. Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee arrived to protect Slamovich.

Backstage, Santino Marella was not happy about Ash’s actions. Ash demanded her title shot for next week. Santino obliged with his Director of Authority power, but Heather and M will be banned from ringside. The winner between Ash and Jayne will face Slamovich.

TNA generally does a great job with the Knockouts division, but this is a mess. Slamovich was a dummy for rolling solo knowing full well that Fatal Influence would interfere. Her pride is a weakness. The big title rematch on TV was flushed down the toilet due to Ash’s interference. Ash’s selfishness goes against the idea that the TNA locker room should care that an outsider has the Knockouts Championship. Santino was a doofus too in that regard by banning the Elegance Brand from ringside next week while saying nothing about banning Fatal Influence.
