Santino Marella made his debut in AAA for the style matchup of the century against Mr. Iguana. Cobra style versus iguana style. It almost resulted in the death of La Yesca.
Santino arrived from TNA to team with Lola Vice from NXT against the AAA mixed tag champions Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra at Verano de Escándalo (July 11, 2025) in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
During the pre-match photo session, Santino flexed muscular poses and stepped in front
to block out Mr. Iguana. When Lola struck a pose, Santino pointed to the assets.

AAAThe match started with the women. Lola tried to seduce Mr. Iguana. Hiedra was upset and slapped her partner upside the head. The men tangoed in a chain wrestling duel, except Santino couldn’t kip up properly. He kept falling over. Mr. Iguana hit a dropkick, and Santino finally kipped up with success. This was a comedy match, but there was real wrestling too. Lola suplexed Hierda on the floor. Santino and Lola locked in dual crossface submissions on their opponents.
The finish came down to what the world wanted to see. The Cobra versus La Yesca. Santino lunged with the Cobra, but Mr. Iguana’s iguana puppet caught the snake. When Santino locked and loaded the Cobra, Hiedra grabbed his arm to save her teammate. In the commotion, the Cobra struck La Yesca. Cobra venom almost killed the puppet. Mr. Iguana tried mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and Santino pumped La Yesca’s chest for signs of life. It was a scary moment for the puppet. The scene made children cry in horror. Ever la ruda, Hiedra took advantage of the situation for a low blow on Santino. The champs piled on top for the pin to win.
AAA posted the full match. Fans of comedy wrestling will get a kick out of it.
