Report: Blockbuster trade sends USWNT’s Ally Sentnor from Utah Royals to Kansas City Current

According to Jeff Rueter, Megan Feringa, and Meg Linehan, the USWNT Young Player of the Year will be traded to the Kansas City Current, in one of the biggest blockbuster trades in NWSL history.

In the last ever NWSL Draft in 2024, Ally Sentnor was selected with the first overall pick by the Utah Royals. She quickly became their franchise player and the face of the club.

It remains to be seen what Utah will get back in return, but it’s hard to see the reasoning behind this move for them. Trading a player

of Sentnor’s caliber doesn’t make much sense unless it’s for equal value or more in return...

For the KC Current, they were already the favorites for the NWSL Shield and Championship, and this move may have slammed the door shut for all other teams.

Internationally, she has already earned 12 caps for the USWNT and scored four goals.
