Eli Manning auditions for WWE SummerSlam and talks trash with his new ring name

WHAT'S THE STORY?

WWE SummerSlam is a two-night event that takes place this weekend (Aug. 2 & 3) at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is a legend at that stadium, so he decided to take The Eli Manning Show over there so he can audition for SummerSlam against teammate Shaun O’Hara. WWE stars Bianca Belair and the Street Profits were also on hand to give advice and ultimately judge which NFL star had the better performance.

Below is a social media teaser for Eli’s WWE audition.

You can watch the full video on YouTube right here.

Eli makes his over-the-top entrance as “The Eli-minator.” He certainly doesn’t have the look of a pro wrestler, but his mic skills were on point with zingers like “I’m so good, you got my name written on your pants!”

I’d say Eli’s outlook as a future WWE celebrity star looks bright given the current bar is set at Jelly Roll standing there while his opponents run into him. Eli already ran an angle by attacking Tom Brady back in June, so never say never about a WrestleMania clash between the two longtime rivals.

How do you rate Eli Manning’s skills during his WWE audition? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
