The Cleveland Browns aren’t in horrible shape at the wide receiver position in terms of the numbers game. With that said, because of how quickly the team is trying to evaluate four quarterbacks at once, that means a surplus of receivers is needed too. The reason for that is the team is currently down two players: David Bell is still recovering from last year’s surgery, and then Michael Woods is now dealing with a hand

injury. With that in mind, the Browns signed WR Winston Wright on Friday to help pad the numbers game at the position.

Wright (5-10, 192 lbs) is an undrafted free agent in out of East Carolina. It’s not often that an undrafted player gets a sudden invitation to join an NFL team when training camp has started, having not been at any of the team’s offseason programs. The odds of Wright lasting with the team long probably aren’t too high, but he’s at least got a shot now. Wright also had some return duties in college.
