La Familia — Kentucky’s alumni team for The Basketball Tournament — had their media opportunity on Monday afternoon and that presented an opportunity for Kahlil Whitney to reflect on his decision to leave Kentucky back during the middle of the 2019-2020 season.
He played in just 18 games for the Wildcats, averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds while shooting 37% from the floor and 25% from three-point range.
While it was certainly a head scratcher that Big Blue Nation was not happy with, all seems to
be forgiven as of late.
According to Whitney, Kentucky fans have really poured in the love on social media to show their appreciation for his commitment to playing for La Familia.
Whitney said it’s the perfect situation for him to make things right and win here (UK) this summer.
The Basketball Tournament will be underway later this week with La Familia facing Stroh’s Squad on Friday at 9 PM ET in Lexington. Television coverage will be available on FS1.
