Should Josh Allen play vs. Bears Sunday night?

WHAT'S THE STORY?

The Buffalo Bills are in the Windy City for the second week of preseason football, with a Sunday night matchup against the Chicago Bears. As of Sunday morning there had been no official word if Josh Allen, or any of the starters, would play in this week’s preseason game.

The Bills and Bears did have a joint practice on Friday, which could impact head coach Sean McDermott’s decision on how much to play his starters. The biggest question will likely be around quarterback Josh Allen, who didn’t play last

weekend against the New York Giants. I was curious if Bills fans would want to see Allen play, and took to social media to get some input.

In a bit of a surprise to me, the overwhelming majority (88%) of respondents said that they do not want to see Allen play on Sunday. Usually fans want to see Allen play as often as possible, even if it is a meaningless preseason game. But as the Bills’ hopes of winning the Super Bowl with Allen continue, everyone is aware that those aspirations are directly tied to the health and performance of QB17.

On the flip side, something can certainly be said for Allen and Buffalo’s offense going through a bit of their routine on Sunday night. It doesn’t have to be an extended appearance in the game, and even just one series could allow the offense to work through any kinks. With new wide receivers Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore on the roster, a series with Allen could be seen as a positive on Sunday night.

What about you: Do you want to see Josh Allen play tonight? Personally, I’m fine if he sits on the bench wearing a baseball cap while holding a clipboard.
