GUNTHER did the impossible and pulled a good match out of Goldberg

WHAT'S THE STORY?

WWE

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report.

In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Jacob Fatu trading blows with Tala Tonga, the Kabuki Warriors reuniting, and Goldberg’s retirement match, a lot of fortunes were changed.

With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week:

Stock Down #3: Street Profits

The Street Profits went four long years

without championship gold before winning the WWE tag team titles in March. Those belts are now gone four months later, courtesy of the Wyatt Sicks. Who knows how long Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins will have to wait until they get their next run on top of the tag team division.

Stock Down #2: Aleister Black

Aleister looked like a dope when he was rolled up and lost against Ron “R-Truth” Killings on SmackDown. It looks like Black is moving onto a feud with Damian Priest, which is a good thing, but it’s harder to take him seriously now after the way he lost on SmackDown.

Stock Down #1: Seth Rollins

Rollins appeared to suffer an injury during his match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Shortly after officials checked on Seth, they went right to the finish which saw LA pin him with a BFT. It’s not clear what’s going on here just yet, with some people still skeptical that this is legit. Seth was in the middle of a big push to the top of the card, but WWE might have to change course with SummerSlam coming up in less than a month.

Now let’s see whose stock increased the most this week:

Stock Up #3: GUNTHER

GUNTHER put Goldberg to sleep to send him into retirement on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Ring General lived up to his moniker by somehow pulling a decent-to-good match out of the 58-year-old Hall of Famer, whose broken down body has been ravaged with injuries. To Goldberg’s credit, he hung in there like a champ in a GUNTHER-style match that went over 14 minutes, and he even managed to pull off one last Jackhammer. I’d say Goldberg succeeded in going out on his own terms and looking okay in the process. GUNTHER can now move forward by reminding his future challengers that he’s the guy who ended Goldberg’s pro wrestling career (and carried him to a match that exceeded most people’s expectations).

Stock Up #2: Wyatt Sicks

The Wyatt Sicks have already won the WWE tag team championship less than one month after their debut match on SmackDown. Uncle Howdy’s gang of misfits has dominated the blue brand’s tag team division in short order, with only Andrade and Rey Fenix avoiding their wrath so far. The rest of the teams mostly look like they just can’t hang with the Wyatts, so this title run could go on for a while.

Stock Up #1: Jelly Roll & Logan Paul

Jelly Roll showed up on both SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event for an angle with YouTube douchebag Logan Paul that set up a tag team match for SummerSlam. Logan cut a great promo on SmackDown where he ripped on Jelly for being a clout-chasing celebrity who has no business being in a wrestling ring. WWE is going to put a major spotlight on Paul and Roll in the coming weeks, along with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, as the build to SummerSlam continues.

There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think changed the most this week?
