It’s not at all a stretch to suggest that Nick Lodolo will be pitching for ‘NL Pitcher of the Month Award’ honors while on the mound this evening against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Lodolo, who enters having fired 28.0 IP across 4 GS so far in the month of July, is fresh off his complete game shutout of the Washington Nationals and has allowed just 5 ER all month (good for a 1.61 ERA). He also has an absurd 27/3 K/BB in that time, and anything akin to that kind of success tonight against the Dodgers
should cement the award for him, I say despite looking up none of his competitor’s statistics.
Anyway, TJ Friedl is on the paternity list with Rece Hinds recalled, so Will Benson starts in CF (with LF Gavin Lux in the leadoff spot). The Reds are up against Tyler Glasnow, so they’ll all need to bring their A-game to prevent a lost series.
First pitch is set for 7:10 PM ET. Lineups below.
