The prodigal son returns to Munich.
As Paul Wanner finally wrapped up his loan at FC Heidenheim and returned to Bayern Munich, speculations surrounding his potential game time at Bayern weighed heavy. Following his addition to the first team, it is clear that there is an attempt being made to integrate him into the team. This comes a welcome change following last season, when youngster and campus integration was a matter of concern.
Following the 2-1 pre-season win against Lyon, Sky DE journalist Kerry
Hau asked the youngster about his Bayern return.
“It was cool and fun to play with the guys again,” Wanner said in comments captured via @iMiaSanMia.
Certainly this was evident, as he put up a solid performance against Corentin Tolisso and co. But will he stay or is another loan looming on the horizon?
“My focus now is on Bayern — giving it my all every day in training and completing the preseason. And then we’ll see. We’re in good contact,” the youngster declared.
If Wanner does stay, one can only hope this year is finally his big break. He surely deserves it.
