Is trading for a reliever less of a priority now?

With David Robertson and his muscular calves now in tow, the Phillies have a better bullpen. He may not be as good as he was a few years ago, but the simple addition of Robertson, coupled with the subtraction of an inferior pitcher, makes this bullpen better.

It’s simple math.

The question must be asked though: does this signing of Robertson mean the team should be prioritizing a bat on the trade market instead of another reliever?

his services cost only money. They didn’t have to move even a third tier prospect in order to get him which means that third tier prospect can be used to get something else. Yet even with a strengthened bullpen, there still can be another arm out there that can make the unit even better, meaning another trade could be in order.

Either that, or they could dangle some prospects at another team in the hopes of prying loose a different bat to upgrade the outfield.

There are ways this team could go, but which will they take?
