Welcome to the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championships! We’ve reached the Final at last, and it’s the defending EURO champions — England — taking on the defending World Cup champions in Spain.
Spain have been on a tear through this tournament, but the last two knockout games were far from easy. Both Switzerland and Germany made them work for it. England, meanwhile, have hardly had a convincing tournament both by the eye test and the numbers. But...there is just an air of inevitability around them.
As USWNT head coach wrote for The Guardian: “Spain may dominate...but England’s name could be written on the trophy.”
