Roony Bardghji sealed his move from Barcelona to FC Copenhagen this summer in something of a surprise transfer.
However, his agent Christian Emile has revealed the club have been interested in the youngster for some time.
He even revealed he was at the club last year to talk about a possible transfer when news came through that Roony had torn his ACL.
“Many don’t know that in May 2024, I was at Barça’s training facilities for a meeting about Roony. In the middle of the meeting, my phone started ringing
ADnonstop: it was Copenhagen calling to inform me that Roony had torn his anterior cruciate ligament,” he told Bold.
“A moment of absolute silence filled the room. It was an extremely difficult moment for everyone, as we realized that a young talent had suffered a serious injury.
“Despite this, Barcelona’s interest in the player remained, and we held many meetings.”
The injury kept Roony sidelined for a long time but he successfully returned to action and has now sealed his dream transfer to Barcelona.
