From Texas Athletics:
“Volantis notched a 4-1 ledger with a 1.94 ERA and 12 saves over 51 innings. In league play, the 6-foot-6, 212-pound hurler led all
pitchers in ERA (1.59), WHIP (0.85), B/AVG (.160) and saves. Volantis’ 11 saves in conference action are the most by an SEC freshman ever, breaking a 22-year-old record held by Ole Miss’ Steven Head. The NCBWA Freshman Pitcher of the Year and SEC Freshman Pitcher of the Year finished tied for 10th nationally in saves.”
Volantis was also named a Freshman All-American by Perfect Game.
Volantis, a native of Thousand Oaks, California, will return to Austin as a sophomore in 2026; there, he will represent the Longhorns as one of college baseball’s top athletes.
