90+3’ - United pressing hard for the winner, but the Toffees hold strong in the back, and there’s the final whistle, with the final score Everton two, Manchester United two.
90’ - Aznou wins a corner again. Garner to take, cleared by United.
Three-plus minutes to be added on here.
86’ - Mount finds Dorgu behind Onyango, and Pickford out like a flash to make the save.
85’ - Aznou cross blocked for a corner. Everton holding the ball in the United half here. Very good corner from Garner, Onyango can’t
make solid contact, goalie can gather.
84’ - Beautiful long ball from Garner for Barry, he controls but Maguire is quick to clear.
80’ - Barry back on, ten minutes or so to go.
Deep freekick into the box, and Onyango and O’Brien both go down having clashed heads hard in the box.
Youssef Chermiti and Harrison Armstrong are coming on, with Ndiaye and Iroegbunam going off.
78’ - Second time Barry goes down heavily and once again ref not interested. Everton’s new signing does look like he’s hurt his arm falling heavily on it.
75’ - 2-2, HAHAHAHAH! Ndiaye steals the ball of Bruno, who then started hacking at the back of the Everton player’s leg. Ndiaye DGAF and turned around to face Bruno and a shoving match ensues on the half line, meanwhile play continues and McNeil loses the ball in the United box and two Red Devils combine to score a beautiful own goal, lololol. Both Ndiaye and Fernandes are booked by the way.

72’ - United corner, cleared and comes outside the box for Dorgu to fire way over. Would have counted as a field goal here for the Atlanta Falcons NFL franchise.
69’ - Lovely turn and shot inside the box for Mason Mount, and it’s 2-1 to United.

65’ - Looks like a 3-4-2-1. Myko - Keane - JOB in the back, Aznou and Onyango as wide midfielders. Garner and Iroegbunam in the middle of the park. McNeil and Ndiaye just behind Barry up top.
61’ - Four subs for the Blues, and it’s Thierno Barry, Dwight McNeil, Tyler Onyango and Adam Aznou (making his debut!) on. Off go Tarkowski, Beto, Alcaraz and Gueye. As for the formation, it’ll be a minute or two before we can work it out.
59’ - Iroegbunam and Alcaraz do very well to combine and break into the box, and then Beto gets in Charly’s way and neither can get off a shot with the goal gaping!
56’ - Oh boy. JOB caught dillydallying on the ball by Cunha, his low cross comes off Garner’s arm and cleared for a corner! Everton lucky that was not given as a penalty, but Garner had gone to ground to block the cross and the ball went off his supporting arm, so case could be made either way.
55’ - Garner freekick floated into the box, but too close to the goalie and he gathers without much grief.
50’ - Everton’s high press is causing United all kinds of problems in playing out from the back.
47’ - Yoro blocks Beto’s shot, corner. Ball comes to Keane, whose shot is blocked, corner again, from the opposite side. Deep from Garner, not cleared well and both Keane and Beto take potshots saved by the goalie, but both deemed offside. Had Keane left it, Beto would have been onside though.
46’ - Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” blares out as the second half gets underway in Atlanta, with Patrick Dorgu the only change, coming on for Mbeumo.
Great run for Ndiaye after stealing the ball off Ugarte, but instead of curling a shot in tries to find Beto and the chance is lost.
Halftime Thoughts - Everton have certainly had their chances and will be glad to not go into the break behind.
45+1’ - Ugarte take a pot-shot and Pickford collects comfortably.
There’s the halftime whistle, 1-1 the score.
40’ - GOALLLLLL! Gana’s cross into the box is brilliantly dispatched back to the far post by Ndiaye to make it 1-1! Credit to Mykolenko who hunted the ball down in the offensive third to create the chance

35’ - Ooh chance! Garner with a delightful cross into the box that Beto, instead of slamming home first time, tried to corral and shot, and misjudged the ball and kicked a United defender instead giving away a foul.
30’ - Apologies for the late start to the blog, got held up in a family activity.

United lead from an 18th minute penalty by Bruno Fernandes after James Tarkowski was adjudged to have fouled Amad Diallo in the box, pulling the player back.

Beto had rounded the keeper to score in the 15th minute, but that goal was disallowed for a very narrow offside ruling.
Before that in the 7th minute Garner had seen his direct freekick saved with O’Brien then hitting the post with the rebound.
Starting Lineups
Everton welcome James Tarkowski back to the lineup as it looks like Moyes will stick with the three-man backline.

Match Preview
Everton haven’t made any new signings in a few days and once again the fanbase is getting restless. Meanwhile, manager David Moyes has continued to bang the drum about needing more players, which has led the supporters to start wondering if there is a rift between him and the rest of the club’s leadership, or even with owners The Friedkin Group? Idle minds will lead to more of this kind of chatter, so the sooner the Toffees get Tyler Dibling, Juanlu Sanchez or anyone else signed up the better, really.
On the pitch though, we will be looking for a debut showing by Adam Anzou, more gametime for Thierno Barry and overall better cohesion and tactical understanding amongst the team.
They will be playing a high-flying Manchester United team that is daring to dream again after beating West Ham and then AFC Bournemouth in convincing manner. Ruben Amorim looks to have established his system a bit more with a summer under his belt, and should United be able to spend some money then they should be back in the top ten sooner than later.

Last Meeting
Everton jumped into a comfortable two-goal lead against United at Goodison in late February when the two sides met, but then let that slip in the second half as the visitors then pulled level. However, the Blues thought they had a chance to win the game when they won a penalty late on, but that decision was overturned by VAR for the game to end 2-2.
