La Familia is back in action today!
The Kentucky Wildcats alumni team won its first-round game in convincing fashion Friday night, defeating Stroh’s Squad by a score of 105-52 behind a big night from Archie Goodwin, who led the team with 19 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Today’s matchup has some SEC flavor as La Familia takes on War Ready, the Auburn alumni team.
War Ready defeated X-Rayted by a score of 61-55 to advance to the Round of 32.
War Ready is led by former Auburn
point guard Wendell Green, Jr., who played for the Tigers during the 21-22 and 22-23 seasons after transferring from Eastern Kentucky University. Green led War Ready with 18 points in their opening round game.
Team captain Laron Smith played for the Tigers during the 2016-2017 season and capped the win with a dunk in the first round matchup.
Green will be a tough matchup for La Familia. He has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble and can knock down shots from deep. If La Familia wants to advance, they’ll need to find a way to contain Green.
It’ll be interesting to see who steps up for La Familia today. Will Archie Goodwin build off a strong opening round showing? Will Kahlil Whitney come back with another strong showing off his TBT debut?
