WWE’s El Grande Americano (allegedly Ludwig Kaiser) made his AAA debut for a TV taping on Friday night (July 25, 2025) in Mexico City, and the masked man was beloved by the local crowd.
El Grande Americano wrestled popular babyface Octagon Jr., but it was the WWE luchador that received loud support. The fans chanted, “Grande,” and booed Octagon Jr. Listen to the opening of the match in this clip.

It wasn’t all negative for Octagon Jr. He won the crowd over whenever executing cool moves, such as corkscrew dives. The good will didn’t last long, and the vibe shifted back in favor of El Grande Americano.
In the end, El Grande Americano showed intestinal fortitude and craftiness to break the rules for victory. He kicked out from a 450 splash then got his feet up to block a moonsault. That was the opening El Grande Americano needed. He stuffed his mask with a foreign object for a headbutt to win.

The best was still to come.
El Grande Americano grabbed the mic to speak in Spanish. The masked man claimed to be Mexican with love for the people and the colors green, white, and red (of the Mexico flag). El Grande Americano capped it off by singing, “El Cielito Lindo.” The man of the hour exited with a salute and a bow.

For anyone disappointed that the Mexican fans would cheer for El Grande Americano, there is only one thing to say. “Ay, ay, ay, ay. Canta y no llores.”
