Can the Dolphins squish the Bills in 2025?

WHAT'S THE STORY?

An AFC East highlight each season, Bills Mafia and Buffalo South look forward to annual matchups between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. In 2025, their first meeting happens in Week 3, under the lights of Thursday Night Football.

That early season showdown takes place in Highmark Stadium, with the schedule makers apparently intent on removing both fan-made snowballs and oppressive Miami heat from the equation in September. Speaking of the heat in Miami, the last time the Dolphins beat the Bills

was in the heat on a Sunday afternoon back in 2022 when receiver Isaiah McKenzie couldn’t run out of bounds before the clock expired.

Since that game in 2022, the Bills have won six straight including a playoff game, and 13 out of the last 14 matchups. Simply put, quarterback Josh Allen plays out of his mind when he sees the Dolphins on the opposite sidelines. In 14 games against them, Allen has 37 touchdowns and only eight interceptions with 3,737 passing yards. The last time he had a passer rating under 90 was back in 2021 — and it’s only happened one other time against the Dolphins.

Will the Dolphins be a different team in 2025? Who knows quite honestly, as some things roster-wise, are the same while others appear different. Tua Tagovailoa will be back under center for another season but it seems that every time he hits the turf you have to hold your breath wondering if he’ll get up.

Tyreek Hill’s looking to give 2,000 yards receiving another shot after coming pretty close in 2024. But there was chatter all offseason wondering if Miami was going to trade him. Instead, the Dolphins traded cornerback Jalen Ramsey and his middle fingers to the Pittsburgh Steelers in return for Minkah Fitzpatrick, re-joining the team that drafted him. Former Bills safety Jordan Poyer is also no longer with Miami.

This could be a make-or-break season for head coach Mike McDaniel, as the Dolphins have failed to meet expectations since he took over.
