According to a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s Plan B in the event of a failure in procuring Liverpool FC’s Luis Diaz would be OLympique Lyon winger Malick Fofana:
Bayern are really interested in Malick Fofana. The Belgian winger can be Bayern’s plan B if the Luis Díaz deal collapses, but he can also be an option for Liverpool if Diaz’s move to Bayern goes through. First of all, Bayern’s top priority is to close the deal for Díaz as soon as possible,
ADwith the player open to the move
Bayern are now set to submit an ‘important’ bid to Liverpool to convince them to sell. If Liverpool open the door, Bayern are happy to go strong and close the deal. Otherwise, Fofana is a strong option for Bayern.
At 20-years-old, Fofana would be much younger and likely much cheaper than Diaz. Judging by the fan reaction to the Diaz news, there could be a large swath of fans who would actually wants Fofana more.
With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Bayern Munich has reportedly also exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. It might also just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Finally, we have a note Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO and his recent slam on Bayern.
