A little over a week after being let go by the Seattle Seahawks, Noah Fant is headed back to the AFC for the next chapter of his career.
The veteran tight end has agreed to a one-year deal
with the Cincinnati Bengals, having initially visited them before meeting with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins. Fant began his NFL career with the Denver Broncos before going to Seattle in the Russell Wilson trade back in 2022.Fant was released by the Seahawks just before the start of training camp after
what Seahawks general manager John Schneider called, “A pure cap casualty situation for us.” He was Seattle’s starting tight end for three seasons, amassing 130 catches for 1,400 yards and 5 touchdowns over 48 games.
The Bengals have Joe Burrow at quarterback and the elite wide receiver duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Mike Gesicki was their leading tight end with 65 catches for 665 yards and 2 touchdowns, so there’s no guarantee that Fant will usurp him as TE1. It certainly gives Cincinnati more depth at the position.
The Bengals are not on the Seahawks’ schedule this season barring a Super Bowl matchup, so there is no Noah Fant revenge game coming.
