Well this will be interesting: looks like Duke and Tennessee are going to have an exhibition this fall on October 26th.
Previoulsy this would have been a so-called secret game, before the season starts. Now though, it’s just an exhibition game which is pretty cool.
Tennessee will be a formidable opponent and they’ll be at home for this one. It’s another example of Jon Scheyer working out a tough schedule and certainly there’s no guarantee.
One of the new Vols is Jaylen Carey, who transferred in from
James Madison.
If the name sounds familiar, it may be because he's Vernon Carey’s little brother (Cary played at Duke in 2019-20).
And he’s doing some first-rate woofing here, saying this:
“I just knew I wanted to be a part of something special going into my junior year. When I was in my Zoom with Coach (Rick) Barnes, I committed in my Zoom. After my Zoom (with Barnes), I had other Zooms set up, but I knew I wanted to play for a legendary coach, someone I could call a GOAT. Better than Coach K, for sure.”
We know what Coach K would have done with that. Now we’ll see what Jon Scheyer will react.
