Jon Jones believes he should be considered a “Forever Champion” despite recently vacating his UFC heavyweight title and going in-and-out of retirement.

While Jones is arguably the best fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA) history, the former UFC champion hasn’t done any favors for his own legacy over the past nine months. his reportedly high UFC asking price, “ducking” a fight with Tom Aspinall, and, of course, retiring from the sport.

Back in June, Jones decided to officially step away from fighting and relinquished his UFC title. Aspinall was promoted to undisputed UFC heavyweight champion and fight fans were finally able to close the book on Jones. That is, however, until Jones unretired just a few weeks later asking to jump on UFC’s upcoming White House card in July 2026.

Many fight fans were not happy to be strung along.

Despite the recent course of events, Jones still considers himself to be the true champion of the world. Earlier this week, Jones took to social media to check a fan calling out one of his Ketone energy drink displays, which lists “Bones” as the “UFC heavyweight world champion.” Obviously this is false advertising since Jones no longer holds the belt, but the legendary UFC fighter doesn’t think so.

Check it out below and let us know your thoughts on Jones still promoting himself as UFC champion!

“Man, we should’ve stamped Forever Champion on it. After everything I’ve done in the UFC so far, I still wake up every morning feeling like the champ of the world. That’s a feeling no one can ever take away from me.”
