
Sean McVay initially said Matthew Stafford would miss roughly the first five days of training camp. On Saturday the timeline was extended, as the Los Angeles Rams’ coach said Stafford will now sit out all of next week.

McVay clarified his comments by indicating he misspoke at the start of camp and that Stafford’s status will be considered a “week at a time”.

Veteran Jimmy Garoppolo has operated the first-string offense in Stafford’s offense. The Rams are acclimating a couple new, key pass catchers ahead of the regular season, mainly Davante Adams and rookie Terrance Ferguson.
