WHAT'S THE STORY?

A social media message from TNA president Carlos Silva hyping the promotion’s Slammiversary stirred up a lot of talk about this Sunday’s big PPV in UBS Arena on Long Island. And Silva did it with just one word: “Phenomenal”.

Rumors followed that there was talk within WWE about sending TNA Triple Crown

and Grand Slam champion AJ Styles for a Slammiversary appearance, followed by a report saying The Phenomenal One would be there. On the go home edition of Impact Wrestling last night (July 17), they made it pretty obvious. Then this morning, they eliminated all doubt...

The linked article on TNA’s website says the confirmation comes from Silva himself, adding:

AJ Styles will be part of Slammiversary on Sunday, which many wrestling insiders are predicting will be the biggest TNA show, especially after Silva shared on social media, “We’re moving the stage back to accommodate more fans.”

Silva did not comment on what Styles will be doing at Slammiversary, the showcase event of the year that features two high-profile championship matches involving TNA and NXT stars, and many other much-anticipated matches.

Our guess is that this appearance may include the announcement of Styles’ inevitable enshrinement in the TNA Hall of Fame*, but that’s just a guess.

You can find out what The Phenomenal One does when he returns to the promotion he represented for more than a decade on Sunday. Slammiversary will be available for purchase on TNA+ (as stand-alone show or as part of an annual subscription, Triller TV, and many traditional PPV outlets.

Excited?

* Styles just recently said he wanted to wait until he was done wrestling to go into any Hall of Fame, but maybe TNA & WWE convinced him to change his mind for a big PPV moment.
