It’s Sunday once again, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! This past week has been absolutely nuts in the Bronx, as we wrapped up our celebration of CC’s and Ichiro’s inductions into the Hall of Fame, welcomed a whopping seven new players to the Bronx at the trade deadline, and saw a small army of celebrities visit the Bronx as the Yankees took on the Tampa Bay Rays during the week. With so much to do, let’s get started!
Additional Congratulations to CC
The congratulations to newest Hall
of Famer CC Sabathia continued this week, with several more being posted after last week’s social media roundup went live. Here they are now:
Sabathia himself then took to social media to post about the weekend’s festivities. First, he shared this photo alongside a pair of fellow Hall of Famers:
Then, in typical CC fashion, he joked about the fact that Yankees fans have been asking him about his ability to take the mound this week, as before the trade deadline, the team needed a small army of pitchers.
Celebrities visit the Bronx
This week saw a number of celebrities visit the Bronx. Early in the week, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić came to town, joining both the YES and radio broadcasts for an inning apiece.
Then, on Wednesday, a number of WWE stars were at the Stadium with the Make a Wish Foundation.
Trade Deadline Hellos and Goodbyes
The trade deadline is an exciting time, as you welcome in new faces that will hopefully bring your team to the next level for the stretch run. At the same time, though, it is bittersweet, as you bid adieu to some old friends. This year, we saw the Yankees engage in a bit of both as part of a hectic deadline that brought in seven new faces while also sending away two players who were part of this year’s squad.

The Yankees also posted farewells to Oswald Peraza and Marcus Stroman on their Instagram stories, but I was unable to get screenshots.
Clint’s Got the Jokes
Speaking of the trade deadline, former Yankees top prospect Clint Frazier cracked a joke after Miguel Andújar was traded. As you may recall, the two players were often paired in trade packages, both real and imagined by the fanbase, throughout their careers to such an extent that it has become a meme. Now that Miggy has been traded, their roads have at long last diverged.

Congratulations to the Maybins!
We wrap up this week with some news that we missed amidst the Hall of Fame excitement: the Maybin family has welcomed its newest member!
