With the 20th overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, the Milwaukee Brewers selected 1B/3B Andrew Fischer from the University of Tennessee.

Fischer joins the Brewers organization on the heels of an extremely impressive season. The slugging left-handed hitter lit up the SEC in his only season with the Vols, slashing .341/.497/.760 with 25 home runs (second in Division I). He also posted a 14% strikeout rate and a 22% strikeout rate — both career bests.

the radar in high school and started his college career at Duke. Fischer ultimately played three seasons at three different universities — Duke, Ole Miss, and Tennessee — but improved as a hitter at each stop. He is definitely a bat-first prospect, although athletic enough to provide value at third base as well as first.

Fischer’s approach at the plate is extremely developed, even for a collegiate prospect. Scouts love his mature approach, his ability to drive the ball to all fields, and his propensity to make hard contact. Baseball America’s scouting report on Fischer characterizes him as having a “strong blend of contact, on-base ability, and power.”
